There are only 3rd party solutions for unlocking iPhone 4 GSM models for iOS versions dating back before iOS 5. (4.3.5 bb 04.10.01 and lower) Because of this, the only current solution for newer iOS versions is official factory unlocking for AT&T Models. iPhone 4 is available in GSM and CDMA. Unlike the iPhone 4S and iPhone 5 which have both CDMA and GSM technology built into every model. CDMA networks like Sprint and Verizon don't require a sim card to run and the iPhone 4 for those networks do not have an available sim slot. Because of this you cannot unlock a CDMA iPhone 4 for any GSM networks. CDMA specialists can "flash" some CDMA iPhone 4's for other CDMA networks. This is typically performed by a specialist because of the risk of "bricking" and expensive software that often times is required.
Thanks for the sharing.Yes,you are right...network providers offer unlock solution only if the user satisfies all terms and conditions.I would like to share my experience in unlocking my iPhone 4.My network provider rejected my unlock request on the basis that I did not yet complete my contract period...Luckily I got unlock from a third party unlock service provider, Classicunlocking.com and removed the network lock permanently.
